This summer, The Pearl is hosting a series of virtual open houses for new families to explore what it means to join our school.

We understand that switching to a student-led online high school can be a daunting decision for a family. At our open houses, you can learn more about democratic education: what it is and how it can benefit your teen. 

The Pearl is especially beneficial for self-directed students, even if they struggle in traditional schools. Many students are passionate artists or have a deep interest in a particular subject, but struggle to engage with the presentation of school subjects that don’t interest them. At The Pearl, we provide our students with the space to explore the subjects they need to graduate through topics they care about. 

The Pearl is a safe space for neurodivergent students, students of color, and 2SLGBTQ+ students. We understand that it’s a hard time for these students to feel safe in public schools. At The Pearl, we promise to do everything within our power to ensure our students feel safe, seen, and validated by our teachers and cohort. Our students have expressed that The Pearl offers a tight-knit and supportive community for them.
